How We Use Them

We keep this short list on purpose:

Essential items keep the site, the consent banner and the contact form working. They're always on.
Analytics items help us understand how visitors use the site. They're only set after you accept analytics in our cookie banner.

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't serve targeted ads.

Essential

csrf_token (cookie)

Provider: Termly, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: protects the consent banner's requests from being forged
Expires: 30 days

TERMLY_API_CACHE (local storage)

Provider: Termly, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: remembers your consent choices and the banner's settings
Expires: kept until you clear it; we ask for your choices again after 12 months

__cf_bm (cookie)

Provider: Cloudflare, on hsforms.net and hsforms.com, used by HubSpot
Purpose: protects our HubSpot contact and newsletter forms from bots
Expires: 30 minutes

rc::a (local storage) and rc::c (session storage)

Provider: Google reCAPTCHA, on google.com
Purpose: spam protection on the contact form, telling people apart from bots
Expires: rc::a is kept until you clear it; rc::c ends when you close the tab

jupitr-theme (local storage)

Provider: Jupitr, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme; only set if you use the theme toggle
Expires: kept until you clear it

ph_<project key>_posthog (cookie, plus a matching local storage item)

Provider: PostHog, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: an anonymous ID that lets us count unique visitors and see how people move through the site
Expires: 1 year

ph_<project key>_posthog_cpm (cookie)

Provider: PostHog, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: stores PostHog's settings for this visitor
Expires: 1 year

ph_<project key>_primary_window_exists, _window_id, _session_registered_properties and _posthog (session storage)

Provider: PostHog, on jupitr.tech
Purpose: keeps track of the current visit and browser tab so page views are grouped into sessions
Expires: when you close the tab

Other Technologies

HubSpot form counter: when our contact or newsletter form loads, HubSpot requests a small image (counters.gif) to count form views. It doesn't set a cookie.
Google Calendar booking: if you open "Book a free consultation," Google's scheduling page loads inside the popup and may use its own cookies under Google's Privacy Policy.

How to Control Cookies

Our banner. When you first visit, our banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, or choose by category under Preferences. You can change your choice at any time with the Consent Preferences link in the footer. If you decline analytics, PostHog doesn't load at all.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out where the law applies.

One browser at a time. Your choices are saved in the browser you made them in. We'll ask again on a different device or browser, in a private window, or after you clear your browser data.

Your browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking essential items may stop the consent banner or contact form from working. Help pages for the most common browsers:

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when we add or remove tools that use cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision.
